Project Two:
Business Web Site
Take the pieces provided and create a business website. Consider design elements and implementing CSS to create a dynamic looking website.
Project Requirements
- Use the CSS Elements we are learning in class.
- At least 5 pages of content (this does not include the splash page, flowchart, or HTML Elements page). Consider using 5 main pages, with 3 sub pages.
- Flowchart
- One HTML Elements page which describes which HTML elements were used and where.
This page MUST be linked to the HOME page. It is NOT one of the required five pages. List the elements and then the pages they are on.
- Be Creative and have FUN! Don't just look for the minimum requirement.
- !! opening page must be index.htm or default.htm
Images
- All images must be formatted for web
- Create thumbnails as needed
- Use extra image resources on the web.
Text
- For body text I have provided Lorem Ipsum text. It is in the download
folder on the school server. Use as needed.
- Headers and subheads should be real text - you create what they say.
- Use CSS to format all text, fonts, colors, sizes, etc.
Business Choices
Choose one of the following businesses. Create a name and set up a basic website for it.
- Diner
- Coffee Shop
- Candy Store
- Floral Shop
- Bike Shop (motorcycle or bicycle)
- Graphics Business

Design Process
- Choose a color palette that will set the look for the entire website
- Create as many HTML documents as you need. Follow the usual procedure.
- Create a flow chart which shows what you plan on doing with each page. Show how the pages link together.
- Create a project folder named "YourLastNameP2" - i.e. "JonesP2". Only your last name, nothing else, unless two people have the same last name, then add your first initial - i.e. "JonesB".
- Save your opening page or home page as default.htm or index.htm
- Create your HTML documents as usual.
- Place all HTML documents and images into your project folder.
- Upload your HTML documents to the server and view/critique them in a browser. Test to make sure all files are working once you upload your website.
Evaluation
This Project is worth 75 points. Each criteria is worth the following points.
Doing the minumum will not get you the total amount of points.
